Operating Instructions
"FloVac" Feature
Place the hearing instrument(s) on the "FloVac" PAD under the "FloVac" CUP. (Multiple instruments can be processed at the same time and batteries may be left in place. If feedback occurs, it will stop when the Midas is started).
To start the MIDAS III system:
- Press "READY" button down: Nothing will run at this point
- Press "START" button: Midas will start and shut off automatically in five minutes.
- To stop during cycle: Press & release "READY" button.
- To release "FloVac" cup: Move "NVAC" switch down.
"FloVac" Function
The "FloVac" process dislodges and moves debris and moisture in the mic and reciever which helps to restore the performance of the instrument. It does NOT remove cerumen lodged in the receiver tube. The "NeedleVac" is the best tool for this problem.NeedleVac
"NeedleVac" Features
The "NeedleVac" accessory easily installs by simply inserting the gray probe in the fitting located top left rear of the Midas III. The "NeedleVac" enables you to clear reciever tubes without opening the aid.
"NeedleVac" Toolkit
Label on kit has list of items in the kit. Always use the largest needle that will easily slide into the tubing. The most used needles will be the pink and blue. The pink soft needle is for dealing with a sharp bend in the canal. The wood handled tools application is on the kit label.
"NeedleVac" Activation
To use the "NeedleVac" the "FloVac" CUP must be on the "floVac" PAD. Start the Midas following previous instructions and move "NVAC" switch down and vacuum the receiver tube.
"AirJet" Feature
The "AirJet" attachment plus into the rear of the MIDAS and is used to blow debris from vent and battery compartment.
(Please note that "AirJKet" is a seerate device so that debris can not be blown into the instrument.)
Maintenance Items
The "NeedleVac" has a filter that should be cleaned monthly. Simply unscrew the glass bowl and remove the debris from the bowl and also under the vinyl washer above the bowl
The "FloVac" PAD can be replaced in your office by peeling of the worn pad. Use a hair dryer to loosen adhesive and remove adhesive with mineral spirits.
Midas Warranty
"FirstAid" For Hearing Aids warrants the MIDAS III SYSTREM to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from date of purchase.
If repair or adjustment is necessary and has not been the result of abuse or misuse within the two year period, please return freight prepaid and correction of the defect will be made at no charge.
For your protection, items returned must be carefully packed to prevent damage in shipment and should be insured for $800.
(Out of warranty products will be repaired on a parts and labor basis.)
